Tour Blog: Day 7

Today we headed down to Klamath Falls, OR to play a show for Oregon Institute of Technology.

It was a long day in the van, and when we arrived things looked like we were going to have a small, tame audience. However, after sound check and a bite to eat, we decided to take matters into our own hands – so we went to the large dorm and walked the halls inviting students to see the show.  It had a profound effect upon the evenings events.  We had a great show, and the students really connected with the music and what we were doing.  They were so pumped about the music that OIT actually gave us our first “encore” in the band’s history.  We didn’t know what to do – so we ad-libbed, playing a cover of Jimi Hendrix “Fire” with a slight twist.  Nate sang lead local and Pete moved over to drums!  It was a lot of fun, thanks OIT!!!

Tour Blog: Day 6

Today we got up extra early (4 am) and departed from Havre, MT to head to Walla Walla, Washington.  It took about 14 hours, with a time zone change and we had some pretty trecherous terrain to navagate as we passed thru an white-out blizzrd in the Helena, MT area, Fortunately we made it without any crashes, and had a great show at Whitman College!

Tour Blog: Day 5

Today we headed to Havre, MT to play at Montana State University – Northern.  We had a great night with the students and enjoyed a meal together after the show at the local eatery: 4B’s.  In addition to running the sound for our performance, MSUN student Joe “Hammar” was also kind enough to take some great pictures from the show. Tour Blog Day 4

So we awoke in Denver to find that it had snowed 4 inches.  After clearing the car, we hit the road with our sites set on Northwest College in Powell, WY.

En route to Powell we hit a few snags – among others, construction and blasting on the highway crossing the Big Horn Mountains.

While we were stopped for 20 minutes we visited with Kurt, the road workers from Sheridan, WY and he actually got himself a CD from us!

Once we crossed the mountains we hit another obstacle – finding our route closed, and we were forced to take the long road around the mountains.  With time quickly passing, we now were losing our chance of getting to the gig on time.  Nate took over the wheel and used his superior driving skills to whip us thru the local hamlets of the high desert.  It was then, in our haste to make the show on time…we also made the acquaintance of a local Wyoming Highway Patrol officer who gave us a souvenir for our trip:

We finally made it to the show – and we’re able to  load-in, set-up and play without a problem.

Powell, WY and our wonderful friends from Northwest College showed us a GREAT time, taking us to the two local watering holes in the area.  Here’s a picture of our second stop, Lavinia:

A Little Set-back

Sunday April 26th. Good morning. We have a flat tire.  The good news is – today is a day off, so we will be changing a flat and getting it repaired.

Time To Play

Saturday April 25th.  We stayed in St. George, Utah and got on the road by 9:30m – spending most of the day in the car en route to Denver, CO.  On the road you get plenty of time to think, read, or work on some new music.  Here’s what you can expect to coming soon from Centrevol…

Crossing the Rockies

Did you know there is still a bit of snow in the Rockies?  Here’s what we saw as we crossed the pass on I-70:

We arrived in Denver in time to park and load-in to the club, The Walnut Room.  We had a great show and were grateful to play with some awesome Denver bands, check ‘em out: The Pick-up Artist, The Dualistics, and Faces of Radio.

Packing

Friday April 24th.  Departing from Long Beach, California, Midday.  We left a bit later than planned – having to negotiate our packing situation.  35+ days, 28 gigs, and we need to fit our gear, clothes, bodies and food into a Dodge Grand Caravan.

Las Vegas

We on our way to St. George, UT we stopped in Las Vegas and visited with friend D’andre and his friend Lauren.  We all went over to the Paris casino and had a bite to eat.  Kai had little photo-op after dinner:
